There will be construction work being done in the Gateway Loop, adjacent to the Blackcomb Lodge. There will continue to be 24hr access to the Blackcomb Lodge for your check-in, but please be aware of any Detour signage and expect short delays.
An enclave of fine apartments in a lush forest setting with inviting trails located at the foot of Blackcomb Mountain. Close to it all, yet blissfully away from the pace of the Village. Here are the four cornerstones of the community: the mountains, Lost Lake, Chateau Whistler Golf Course and the Village. Quiet at night and a perfect base camp for activity during the day. Features include a Kids Centre, adult games room with a wide screen TV and a billiard table, lounge area with wet bar and a patio complete with barbecue.
Exceptional!! Our experience from reservation to check in, to check out, was fantastic! One quick story: we booked a 3 bedroom place for my family of four, plus my in-laws from Toronto\'s family of four, for four nights. One morning my little nephew was upset that we didn\'t have ketchup for his scrambled eggs. My sister in law agreed this was an emergency. With tongue in cheek, she phoned the front desk explaining the crisis and inquired whether they had any ketchup. The front staff said they did not, buy would send out a special trip out to a neighbouring resort because they had some ketchup packets in the staff room. They did so and knocked on our door with ketchup 20 minutes later. Crisis averted ;) Above and beyond, but so appreciated!!
We were up there for the Whistler Allstar hockey tournament, and, we decided we wanted a full kitchen and lots of room. I stayed at the Horstmann a few years ago; would the Horstmann be as good as I remembered? Yes, it was! A fabulous value, and with parking included in the rate, it ended up being cheaper than a simple guest room in the village. Quiet and within easy walking distance to the village, or there\'s a bus stop across the street. When my family comes to Whistler again, we\'ll definitely stay at the Horstmann.
Location was great- quiet, short walk to Lost Lake and other trails, free shuttle bus stop at the front door (used it to go everywhere). Guest service and staff were very attentive (had fresh towels every day which was not expected), promptly replaced a light bulb and unclogged a toilet, and provided jumper cables when our car battery died. Kitchen area a bit crowded when preparing meals for 8 but living room area had enough couches for the group. Hot tub in the courtyard was fantastic- opportunity to chat with people from other places. The games room- a real nice bonus- something for all ages to do. Beds were comfortable; 3 bathrooms for 3 bedrooms was great. Master bedroom perfect for a couple with small child- separate tub and shower; room for a crib. Would not hesitate to stay there again!
We really enjoyed our stay at Horstman House. The accomodations were beautiful, the kitchen was well stocked with necessary cooking items, the bedrooms were lovely and very comfortable. Sitting out on the balcony, enjoying coffee in the morning never gets old with an amazing view to enjoy! We enjoyed the pool and hottub immensely. The area is spacious and really beautiful, and the barbecue was nice to have at our disposal. The Village is not far away, within walking distance through a beautiful trail. It was nice to be close to the bustle of the Village but far enough away for peace and quiet.
